BUNA TETU

acknowledges the traditional labor and wisdoms of the Oromo & Sidama Farmers where the coffee is grown, and the traditional custodians of Gadigal lands in which the coffee is roasted and business is run.

Our Family business aims to provide the richest single origin coffee beans from the love of our traditions in accordance to good market practices for the love of equity.

Buna Tetu (Amharic for “Drink Coffee”) is a commonly used phrase inviting others to drink coffee so Nu, Buna Tetu!

BUNA : Coffee TETU: Drink BET: House

  • “Buna Tetu” is an Amharic phrase we use to invite guests to join us in drinking coffee. Buna Tetu Bet translates to ‘house of coffee drinking’ and we use this phrase for our social media handles and website (@bunatetubet).

Buna Tetu is an Ethiopian family owned and run business operating out of Gadigal land (Sydney, NSW). We are avid coffee lovers and invite you to indulge in the ceremony of drinking coffee with us by purchasing our roasted coffee pouches.

We’re trying to provide the fruit of coffee without killing the tree. From biodegradable coffee stand up pouches, labels, coffee grind and packaging boxes to even the packaging tape, we hope to be kind to God’s gift of Earth by delivering a completely biodegradable and compostable product from the box to the bean that’s delivered to you.

Our intention is to provide you with specialist Ethiopian coffee beans with respect to the land and her farmers. We are aware of the unethical ways the coffee market produces coffee and we wish to change this by having set principles of respect and redistribution throughout the entire process.

From establishing relationships with the Ethiopian farmers and traders, we aim to acknowledge the cultural, historic, and social significance of coffee with respect to its origins and purpose.

If you would like to buy our pouches but do not have the means to do so, email us at bunatetubet@gmail.com and we will share a discount code to your means.

We as a family of Orthodox Chritstian settlers acknowledge the Gadigal, Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung land and First Nation People whose sovereignty and land has never been ceded, who have continuously shared the lessons of care, hospitality, strength and culture.
